Poland slipped down into the relegation play-off spot in the Group 1 table following a 1-0 defeat away from home at Croatia last time out in the Nations League, while Portugal remained top of the group table after recording a second 2-1 win on the trot on home soil over Scotland on matchday 2 of this competition.

Poland began this new Nations League campaign in promising fashion as they registered a 3-2 win away from home at Scotland after producing what was an extremely disappointing Euro 2024 finals showing which yielded just a single point from their three group games in the tournament.

Indeed, Portugal usually find a way to win and this is underlined by the fact that the visitors have not been involved in a draw since early June 2022 when they shared the points in a 1-1 draw with Spain, which spans a total of 33 matches!

Poland had previously put together a solid looking eight-game unbeaten sequence in all competitions but the hosts are expected to face a tough assignment here on Saturday night especially as Portugal have not only won six of their last eight away games but the visitors have also kept six clean sheets in the process.
