Just six days after meeting each other in the final game of the regular La Liga 2 season, Real Oviedo and Eibar will meet again in this two-legged play-off semi-final with the 1st leg being played at the Estadio Nuevo Carlos Tartiere as hosts Real Oviedo look to avenge their final game of the season 4-3 loss to Eibar this time around on Saturday evening, while Eibar will be looking for more of the same as the visitors seek to take a lead into next week's return leg.

Eibar tended to alternate between wins and losses throughout the La Liga 2 campaign but their final 10 games of the season yielded six wins, one draw and just three defeats which included a 2-0 win on the road away at FC Andorra.

However, each of Eibar's three defeats within these final 10 games of the Spanish second tier season were all inflicted upon Joseba Etxebarra's side on the road with losses incurred at Tenerife, Albacete and Sporting Gijon respectively, thus throwing some doubt over whether Eibar can repeat last week's win against their upcoming hosts this time around at the Estadio Nuevo Carlos Tartiere.

Indeed, the bigger picture shows Eibar have managed to capture just three wins from their previous 14 outings on the road, slipping to seven defeats in the process as well.
