Real Valladolid slumped to a sixth league defeat on the trot in the Spanish top flight last Sunday in emphatic fashion when they were dealt a heavy and comprehensive 7-1 mauling away from home at the hands of Athletic Bilbao which also meant that the upcoming hosts remain bottom of the La Liga table.

Las Palmas have also had problems of their own in recent times in the Spanish top flight as the visitors failed to win a seventh league game on the trot following a 2-0 loss at home to Barcelona last Saturday in La Liga which also became a six loss in seven games for Diego Martínez's side.

Real Valladolid now find themselves eight points adrift of their fourth from bottom visitors and safety ahead of this important relegation battle at the Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla on Friday night and Valladolid's situation is now starting to look very bleak indeed after losing six games on the bounce.

Las Palmas continue to hover just above the relegation zone in the La Liga table despite failing to win any of their last seven matches in the domestic top flight and having slipped to six defeats within these previous seven games, it only further underlines how poor the bottom three clubs have performed.

Three of Las Palmas' six recent defeats have been inflicted upon Diego Martínez's side on their travels with losses incurred at Real Madrid, Girona and Mallorca in 4-1, 2-1 and 3-1 defeats respectively which do not bode well for this upcoming trip to face an equally out of form outfit such as Real Valladolid.

Interestingly, six out of Las Palmas' last seven league matches have also resulted in both teams scoring and the goals market looks appealing for this upcoming clash especially as both teams are fighting to stave off relegation.

The bigger picture shows Las Palmas have managed to record just three wins from their previous 20 outings on the road whilst also slipping to 13 losses along the way as well.
