La Liga, played Sunday, November 5th, 2023
Here is our Valencia v Granada tip and game preview. Based on our detailed analysis of statistics listed below and other factors, we predicted both teams to not score in this game, under 2.5 goals, and a Valencia home win. Our confidence in this pick was high relative to other picks.
Valencia could be forgiven for licking their lips at the prospect of this upcoming tussle at home with lowly Granada as the hosts look to not only extend their unbeaten run in the Spanish top flight to four games but to also pick up all three points as they continue their quest to break into the top six pack of the La Liga table while Granada were handed a second defeat on the trot last time out, losing 3-2 at home to Villarreal.
Valencia still sit on the fringes of the top six in the Spanish top flight table but the hosts have given themselves a decent chance from which to launch an assault as they have picked up points on the road by way of draws with Mallorca and Athletic Bilbao along with claiming all three points with a solid 2-0 home win against Cadiz in between these stalemates.
The hosts have produced somewhat of a mixed bag though so far in this season's La Liga campaign as Ruben Baraja's side have won four, drawn three and lost the other four games within their 11 league matches played to date.
It's worth noting though that three of Valencia's four league wins so far this term have been achieved on home soil at their Estadio de Mestalla with victories over Las Palmas, Atletico Madrid and Cadiz.
Meanwhile, Granada continue to not only battle against the early threat of possible relegation from the Spanish top tier but also against an increasingly worrying winless stretch of games in La Liga which has now extended to eight games following last weekend's 3-2 defeat at home to Villarreal.
Granada have succumbed to five defeats within these last eight league matches, slipping to losses against Real Sociedad, Girona, Las Palmas, Osasuna and Villarreal which have outweighed the visitors' minimal successes in the shape of points picked up in draws with Real Betis, Almeria and Barcelona, the latter admittedly being a creditable 2-2 draw at home.
The visitors have managed to collect just one win all season to date which came in the form of a 3-2 home win against Mallorca but the bigger picture suggests the momentum is firmly against Granada as they have won just once in their previous 13 matches in La Liga overall.
Valencia v Granada Verdict
Although Valencia have produced a mixed bag of results so far this season, Ruben Baraja's side have at least chalked up a few wins in the process and the hosts should be too strong for an out-of-sorts Granada outfit who have slipped to five defeats within their last six outings on their travels.
In addition, Valencia have won two out of the last three meetings with Granada and another three points looks to be on the cards for the hosts here.
Therefore, our main bet will be Valencia win @ 1.61
Other side bets worth considering:
Valencia win & Under 2.5 goals @ 4.00
Correct score: Valencia 2-0 @ 8.00
