Just one point separates 16th placed hosts, Sevilla, from their upcoming 15th placed visitors, Alaves, ahead of Friday night's important lower half clash in the Spanish top flight at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán with Sevilla looking to avoid a third league defeat on the trot following their recent 2-0 defeat at home to Athletic Bilbao, while Alaves earned a point in a creditable 1-1 draw away from home at Real Sociedad.
