Real Madrid are still fighting on two fronts as the hosts edged out Premier League side Manchester City on penalties in the Champions League in midweek after the scores were level at 4-4 on aggregate and Carlo Ancelotti's side are also top of the La Liga table where they hold a useful eight-point cushion over their second placed visitors Barcelona prior to this latest edition of ‘el clasico' at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday night.

On the domestic front however, Barcelona continued their impressive momentum in La Liga last weekend with a 1-0 win away from home at Cadiz which extended Barcelona's unbeaten sequence in the domestic top flight to 10 games overall, including collecting eight wins in the process.

Within these eight victories, four have been achieved on their travels with wins recorded on the road at Alaves, Celta Vigo, Atletico Madrid and the aforementioned Cadiz respectively which will still give Xavi's men reason to believe they can not only grab an all-important three wins in this clash but to also reduce the points deficit to just five.

Barcelona are also unbeaten in their last 15 games on their travels while goals for both teams could feature in this upcoming ‘el clasico' as six of the visitors' last 10 away games have seen both teams hit the back of the net.
