Recent back-to-back wins in the Italian top flight have helped lift Napoli up into seventh place in the Serie A standings and now just three points behind sixth placed Atalanta ahead of Friday night's clash at home with mid-table Torino with the hosts looking to collect a third win on the trot, while Torino will be looking to end a three-game winless run in Serie A.

Points picked up in draws with Genoa and Cagliari both in 1-1 stalemates have been boosted by two subsequent wins on the trot which have seen Napoli post a 6-1 comprehensive victory against Sassuolo away from home followed by a 2-1 home win against Juventus on the weekend which should set the hosts up nicely for this Friday night tussle against Torino.

After having had to endure a sticky patch of results beforehand from early December through to the first week of January which yielded just the single win which came in the form of a 2-1 home win against Cagliari, Napoli have since turned things around in the domestic top flight as the hosts have lost just once in their subsequent eight matches overall in Serie A.

In addition, Napoli are unbeaten in their last six home games, picking up four wins in the process.

Torino gained a point in a 0-0 stalemate at home with Fiorentina in Serie A on Saturday but although they avoided a third defeat on the trot, the visitors' winless run in the domestic top flight was extended to three games overall.

Torino had previously suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of Lazio and Roma in 2-0 and 3-2 losses respectively so this upcoming trip to face Napoli at their Stadio Diego Armando Maradona still looks to be a tall order for Ivan Juric's side despite an improved showing this season as the visitors currently occupy the safety of a mid-table position of 10th place in the Serie A table.

Torino finished last season's Serie A campaign in strong fashion especially away from home where the visitors ended up by winning their last four away games on the trot with wins at Lazio, Sampdoria, Verona and Spezia respectively but this season has been a different story as Torino have managed to pick up just two wins from their last 11 outings on the road, slipping to five defeats in the process, which makes this upcoming clash on Friday night a potentially tough one.
