Lazio captured a third win on the trot in Serie A last weekend following a 2-1 win away from home at Udinese which has helped lift the hosts up into seventh place but level on points with sixth placed Atalanta, while Lecce dropped down to 13th place in the Serie A table after being held to a 1-1 draw at home by fourth from bottom outfit, Cagliari.

Lazio's recent clutch of wins in the domestic top flight has once again placed the hosts in the conversation concerning places for a Champions League spot for next season as previous wins against Empoli and Frosinone have moved Lazio to within three points of the top four pack ahead of this Sunday morning's clash with Lecce.

A slow start to this season's campaign saw Lazio collect just one win from their opening five games which came in the shape of a 2-1 victory away from home at Napoli but they had also been handed losses by the likes of Lecce, Genoa and Juventus as well within this disappointing start.

That singular victory came in the form of a 2-1 home win against Frosinone and although Lecce have picked up points in seven draws within these last 14 games, the visitors have also been handed six defeats as well which has prevented Roberto D'Aversa's side from lifting themselves up into the top half of the Serie A table.

Lecce had previously produced a solid and encouraging start to this Serie A season as they had put together a five-match unbeaten sequence which included wins against Lazio, Salernitana and Genoa, all of which were achieved on home soil, while the bigger picture shows results away from home continue to hold Lecce back as the visitors have managed to win just once in their previous 16 outings on the road.
