The action continues in the Italian top flight on Monday night and includes this lower half of the Serie A table clash between Empoli and Como when the two sides meet at the Stadio Carlo Castellani with a precious and valuable three points up for grabs for both sides.

Empoli head into this upcoming encounter on the back of a heavy 3-0 loss at home to Inter Milan in midweek but the hosts do at least have another opportunity to set the record straight at their Stadio Carlo Castellani on Monday night.

Como dropped down the Serie A table to 15th place following a 5-1 thrashing at home to Lazio on Halloween night so this was a rather apt result on a night for horrors which also became a third loss in four games for the visitors.

The visitors had previously slipped up against Napoli and Torino and although Cesc Fabregas' side picked up a point in a 1-1 draw at home with Parma, this has come as little consolation for a side who have picked up just one point from the last possible 12 on offer.

Como have managed to register just two wins so far in this season's Serie A campaign which have come in the form of victories against Atalanta and Verona respectively but the visitors have also been dealt five defeats within their opening 10 games of this new term as well.

It's been a period of 21 years since Como last appeared in the Italian top flight and their record at this level has not been great to say the least; indeed, Como have managed to capture just three wins in their last 18 matches at this level which does not bode well for this upcoming trip to the Stadio Carlo Castellani on Monday night.
