Stuttgart recorded an impressive and valuable 3-2 win away from home at Wolfsburg last Saturday in the German Bundesliga which not only brought Friday night's hosts a fifth win in six games but has also further consolidated Sebastian Hoeness' side's third place position in the Bundesliga table, while Union Berlin were handed a disappointing 2-0 loss at home to Borussia Dortmund last time out, leaving the visitors in 14th place in the table.

Early season back-to-back wins against Mainz and Darmstadt both by 4-1 margins gave Union Berlin an excellent start to the season which at the time seemed to hold a lot of promise but the visitors then experienced a sharp decline in form and results as Sebastian Hoeness' side slumped to nine defeats on the trot which included a heavy 3-0 loss at home to Stuttgart in the earlier corresponding fixture towards the end of October.

To make matters worse, Union Berlin continue to struggle for results away from home as the visitors have managed to capture just two wins out of their 12 outings on the road to date as well as being handed no fewer than eight defeats in the process.
