Marseille bounced back from a previous 3-0 defeat at home to PSG in last weekend's French top flight action when they recorded a 2-1 win away from home at Nantes, while Auxerre also collected all three points by way of a resounding 4-0 thumping of Rennes at home last Sunday, so both teams will feel confident about their chances ahead of this Friday night tussle.

Marseille currently occupy second place in the Ligue 1 standings but find themselves six points adrift of the league leaders, PSG, but nevertheless, Roberto de Zerbi's side know they can slash this deficit in half by picking up all three points against Auxerre on Friday night.
