Lille secured all three points by way of a 2-1 win away from home at Metz last weekend in the French top flight which became a fourth win in five games for Lille and helped the hosts into fourth spot in the Ligue 1 standings, while Lyon registered a 3-2 home win against Monaco to make it just one defeat in their last seven games.

Lille have collected previous wins against Lens, Marseille and Strasbourg respectively and the hosts have put together a decent sequence of results in the domestic top flight in the last few weeks as Paulo Fonseca's side have been handed just the one defeat in their last eight matches overall.

Within these eight games, Lille have produced five wins which include a previous 1-0 win away from home at Reims which will give the home side a welcome boost as they look to pull themselves up into the top four places in the Ligue 1 table and therefore contention for a possible Champions League spot as well.

Lyon also bring some decent results into this upcoming clash as the visitors have suffered just two defeats out of their last 12 matches overall which came in the form of losses at the hands of Lens and PSG but also includes picking up nine wins as well, so they too look to be in confident mood as they prepare for this upcoming encounter at the Decathlon Arena.

Interestingly, five of these nine recent wins have been achieved on their travels as Lyon have recorded wins on the road at the likes of Montpellier, Metz, Lorient, Toulouse and Nantes and these away wins will give Pierre Sage's side plenty of reasons to be upbeat about their chances on Monday night.

Lyon have also won five out of their last six matches on the road as well, but the bigger picture shows that the visitors have managed to capture just seven victories out of their last 17 outings on their travels whilst also slipping to nine defeats as well, so this upcoming trip to face Lille may be far from being an easy assignment for Sage's side here.
