Wolves capitulated to a humiliating 5-1 loss away from home at Premier League title contenders Manchester City last weekend as the west midlands club's troubles continued in the top flight with just one win from their last eight games overall, while Crystal Palace produced an excellent 4-0 rout of Manchester United at Selhurst Park as The Eagles continue their impressive recent form under new manager, Oliver Glasner.

Prior to that heavy 5-1 thrashing at the Etihad Stadium to Manchester City, Wolves had captured a 2-1 home win against Luton Town but that victory has been Wolves' only highlight in an otherwise barren sequence of eight games in the English top flight as Gary O'Neil's side have struggled to sustain their previous form earlier in the season.

Wolves had previously suffered just three defeats within their preceding 11 games overall in the Premier League but the west midlands club had also collected no fewer than seven wins in the process as well, lifting the hosts up into a creditable top half position in the Premier League table.

However, having managed just one win but losing five of their subsequent eight games has resulted in Wolves dropping down to 12th place ahead of this weekend's action in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace by contrast are heading in the opposite direction in an upwards trajectory up the Premier League table as the London club have put together a promising looking five-match unbeaten sequence which consists of four wins and a draw which has helped lift Oliver Glasner's side up into a more respectable looking 14th place in the table and more importantly, giving the visitors a 17-point cushion above the relegation zone.

Recent impressive wins against Liverpool, West Ham, Newcastle United and the aforementioned 4-0 rout of Manchester United along with a point gained in a 1-1 draw away from home at Fulham have alleviated any lingering doubts over whether Palace could avoid a relegation battle.

However, before we get too carried away with Crystal Palace's recent resurgence in form, let's not forget that there is still plenty of room for improvement on their travels as The Eagles have recorded just one win in their last 12 outings on the road whilst being involved in five draws and being handed six defeats in the process as well.

The recent victory at Anfield against Liverpool though will serve as a welcome boost for Palace ahead of this upcoming trip to the west midlands on Saturday afternoon at Molineux.
