West Ham vs Manchester United Preview

West Ham picked up a fourth league win in six games last weekend with a resounding 3-0 home win against Wolves and this result has helped the hosts up into eighth place in the Premier League table, while Manchester United had to make do with a point away from home at Anfield as they drew 0-0 at Liverpool which resulted in the Red Devils dropping down the table to seventh spot.

Although West Ham had to endure a mini slump in form which brought about three defeats in four games from early October through to early November which resulted in defeats against Aston Villa, Everton and Brentford, Saturday lunchtime's hosts have staged something of a recovery under manager, David Moyes, who will face one of his former clubs here on Saturday.

Important wins in subsequent weeks have seen The Hammers pick up victories against Nottingham Forest, Burnley, Tottenham and Wolves respectively while crashing to what seemed an unlikely 5-0 thrashing at Craven Cottage against Fulham but otherwise, the London club have produced an encouraging sequence of results of late in the domestic top flight.

Results overall this season though have been a mixed bag where Manchester United have been concerned as the visitors have won nine, drawn one and lost seven of their 17 league matches to date this season while results away from home have also reflected Manchester United's inconsistent streak this term.

Four wins but also three defeats may throw out the straight win markets for the main bet but the goals market looks quite appealing as five of United's seven away games so far this season have resulted in Under 2.5 goals.
