Sunday afternoon brings us this tasty all-London clash between West Ham and Chelsea at the London Stadium with both teams searching for their first win of this new Premier League campaign after picking up a point apiece in last weekend's season openers.

West Ham opened their account with a solid point in a 1-1 draw down on the south coast against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium but they now return to the London Stadium for Sunday's fixture no doubt looking to improve upon their consistency which seemingly eluded them towards the end of last season.

The Hammers have registered just two wins from their last eight matches in the English top flight which came in the shape of home wins against Manchester United and Leeds United but having also been handed five defeats within this period as well, West Ham had to make do with a disappointing 14th place finish last term.

West Ham's situation could have been worse though had it not been for those two wins as only six points separated them from the relegation zone at the end of the season, so David Moyes will be demanding greater focus this time around.

The less said about Chelsea's top flight campaign last season the better as Chelsea ‘achieved' their worst finish in the Premier League for over 20 years as The Blues ended the campaign in 12th place and a significant 17 points behind the European places.

Given the substantial financial outlay before the season began from owner, Todd Boehly, this was a monumentally disastrous return on his investment, matching only his foolish decision to re-install former manager, Frank Lampard, at the helm of the club.

Former Tottenham boss, Mauricio Pochettino, has arrived at Stamford Bridge tasked with lifting Chelsea back into contention for a top four finish and Champions League football and his side responded with picking up a point in a 1-1 draw at home with Liverpool last weekend.

Although there were some positives drawn from that clash, the fact still remains that Chelsea have managed to win just once in their last 13 matches overall in the Premier League, so there is a long way to go in terms of including Chelsea in the possible top four finish conversation.

In addition, Chelsea won just two of their last 14 away games at the end of last season, something Pochettino will be eager to address this Sunday.
