West Ham vs Burnley Preview

West Ham will be seeking to make it three wins on the trot in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon when they play host to strugglers Burnley at their London Stadium as The Hammers have posted back-to-back wins in recent games which has helped lift the London club up into seventh place in the table, while Burnley suffered a fourth defeat on the trot by way of a 2-0 loss at home to Bournemouth as The Clarets continue to fight a losing battle against relegation.

Despite losing three games on the trot to the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, West Ham have produced an impressive fightback which have come in the form of victories over Brentford 4-2 at home and a resounding 3-1 win away from home at Everton, so the hosts will be in confident mood that they can grab a third win on the trot on Sunday.

West Ham still find themselves eight points behind fifth placed Tottenham and the last of the European spots in the Premier League table but all three points here and a Tottenham slip-up at Aston Villa could make things very interesting indeed.

Burnley continue to swim against an increasingly strong tide in the English top flight as the Lancashire club slumped to a fourth defeat on the trot when Bournemouth registered a 2-0 win at Turf Moor last weekend which now also extends The Clarets' winless run in the Premier League to a worrying nine games.

Within these last nine games, Vincent Kompany's side have been handed no fewer than seven defeats in the process and the visitors now find themselves 11 points adrift of fourth from bottom club Nottingham Forest and safety ahead of this upcoming trip down to the nation's capital to take on West Ham.

Burnley have managed to capture just a measly three league wins throughout the whole of this season's campaign to date and although the visitors have picked up two of these three wins on the road at Luton Town and Fulham respectively, Kompany's side still face a mountain to climb against a confident West Ham outfit this Sunday.

The bigger picture shows Burnley have managed to register just four wins from their last 33 outings on the road in the English top flight which includes 19 defeats, so the prospects of an away win here at the London Stadium do not look very good to say the least.
