West Ham's solid looking six-match unbeaten sequence in the Premier League was brought to a halt following last weekend's heavy 3-0 defeat away from home at Manchester United which has resulted in West Ham dropping down to seventh place in the Premier League table, while Arsenal picked up a third league win on the trot with an impressive 3-1 home win against Liverpool to maintain their bid for a title challenge.

West Ham had previously posted three wins on the trot by way of victories gained over Wolves, Manchester United (both at home) along with a 2-0 win away from home at Sunday's opponents, Arsenal, towards the end of December.

The Hammers' progress though has been slowed down in recent weeks by three draws on the trot as the visitors have been involved in stalemates with Brighton, She?eld United and Bournemouth respectively, along with last week's loss at Old Tra?ord.
