Sheffield United vs Tottenham Preview

Sheffield United will bow out of the Premier League in Sunday afternoon's clash against Tottenham with The Blades looking to depart on a positive note and in turn halt a six-match losing streak which includes defeats on home soil to Burnley and Nottingham Forest in 4-1 and 3-1 losses respectively, while Tottenham know they must pick up all three points up in Yorkshire against their hosts if they are to confirm a fifth place finish and claim the last of the European spots in the Premier League table.

Sheffield United's relegation was confirmed a few games ago which came as no surprise as Chris Wilder's side have failed to win any of their last 13 league matches in the domestic top flight and having lost 10 of these 13 games overall, there was only going to be one outcome for the Yorkshire club.

Four of these 10 losses have been incurred on home soil at Bramall Lane with losses handed out by the likes of Brighton 5-0, Arsenal 6-0, Burnley 4-1 and a 3-1 loss to Nottingham Forest which contributed to Sheffield United possessing the worst defensive record not only this season but in the history of the Premier League.

In addition to failing to win any of their last nine home games, all nine games have also produced four goals or more so further goals are expected here on Sunday afternoon.

Tottenham have already blown their chances of achieving a top four finish and a place in next season's Champions League but the north London club will now have to be fully focused as they look to claim at least a fifth place finish and a place in the Europa League with a win at Bramall Lane on Sunday.

However, Spurs wouldn't be Spurs without shooting themselves in the proverbial foot and sure enough, Ange Postecoglou's side have stumbled to five defeats within their last six matches, suffering damaging defeats at the hands of Newcastle United, north London rivals Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, whilst collecting just the single win during this period which came in the form of a 2-1 home win against Burnley.

Tottenham have won just twice in their last 12 outings on the road while goals have also featured with six of Tottenham's last 10 away games resulting in Over 3.5 goals being scored.
