Newcastle United have made a promising start to this new Premier League campaign as The Magpies have picked up four points from their opening two games of the season including a 1-1 draw down on the south coast at Bournemouth last weekend, while Tottenham head into this Sunday afternoon's clash on the back of a comprehensive dismantling of Everton as Spurs thrashed The Toffees 4-0 at their Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Newcastle United collected all three points against Southampton with a 1-0 win at their St James' Park ground on the opening day of the season and followed by their solid point at Bournemouth, the hosts are equally in a promising position after their opening two games of this new season.

Indeed, Ange Postecoglou's side have managed to collect just three wins within their previous nine league matches overall in the English top flight which includes a previous 3-0 win away from home at Sheffield United towards the end of last season but also includes slipping to five defeats in the process as well.

Three of these five defeats have been incurred on their travels with losses handed out to them at Newcastle United, Chelsea and Liverpool respectively while results away from home have also taken a bit of a dent as well.

Spurs have managed to pick up just two wins in their last 11 matches on their outings which were at Aston Villa and Sheffield United along with five losses in the process, so the prospects of an away win here on Sunday afternoon do seem to hang in the balance somewhat.
