Two defeats on the trot away from home have temporarily put a dent in Newcastle United's ambitions of challenging for a possible top four finish again this season following defeats suffered at the hands of Everton 3-0 and Tottenham 4-1 in what have been uncharacteristically heavy defeats for Eddie Howe's side while Fulham thumped another five goals in back-to-back matches when they registered a comprehensive 5-0 rout of London rivals, West Ham on Sunday.

Following these two recent defeats, both of which were away from home, Newcastle United now return to their beloved St James' Park where they'll play host to an in-form Fulham outfit but although The Magpies have dropped down to seventh place, their situation could change very quickly after Sunday's game as The Magpies have won their last six home games on the trot in the Premier League.

Newcastle have captured a total of eight wins so far in this domestic top flight campaign but it's worth noting that seven of these wins have been collected at St James' Park where the hosts have been dominant in recent times while goals have featured as well with five of Newcastle's last 10 home games resulting in Over 2.5 goals.

Fulham will make their way up to the north-east for Saturday's encounter against Newcastle United brimming with confidence as Marco Silva's side have scored five goals in two games on the trot which needless to say have resulted in back-to-back wins for The Cottagers against Nottingham Forest and West Ham respectively which both finished 5-0 to the London club.

Fulham will now be aiming to make it three wins on the trot in the Premier League for the first time since early January of last season but although Newcastle United have slipped to two losses on the trot as well, the hosts have produced a string of impressive results at St James' Park so far this term.
