Both Everton and Wolves head into this upcoming encounter on merseyside on the back of heavy defeats in last weekend's Premier League action so needless to say, both sides will be keen to avoid another loss in this clash at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

Everton avoided relegation from the English top flight at the end of last season by the skin of their teeth, finishing just one league place and two points above the bottom three clubs and although manager, Sean Dyche, guided The Toffees to safety last season, he has another tough job on his hands this term if early results are anything to go by.

Everton have been dealt back-to-back defeats in the early stages of this new Premier League season as The Toffees suffered a narrow 1-0 loss at home to Fulham and were then handed a heavy 4-0 rout at the hands of Aston Villa at Villa Park last Sunday.

The bigger picture also paints a gloomy forecast for Evertonians as their side have registered just two wins from their previous 13 league matches in the Premier League while also winning just once in their last six games.

Wolves produced a promising start to their new Premier League season despite losing 1-0 away from home against Manchester United at Old Trafford as the west midlands club more or less outplayed the Red Devils and indeed were extremely unlucky that they weren't given what seemed to be a stone-wall penalty.

However, Gary O'Neil's side reverted back to type in last weekend's heavy 4-1 loss at home to Brighton at Molineux and the manner of their defeat does not bode well for Wolves ahead of this trip to Goodison Park on Saturday especially as they have now lost four out of their last five league matches in the domestic top flight.

Defeats to Manchester United 2-0 and Arsenal 5-0 towards the end of the last campaign consigned Wolves to a lower half finish in last season's Premier League table and although Wolves had previously captured four wins in their preceding six league matches with victories over Chelsea, Brentford, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, it's worth noting that all four of these wins were achieved on home soil at Molineux.

Results and form away from home though continues to be a major headache for Wolves as the visitors have failed to win any of their last nine outings on the road and having been handed no fewer than seven defeats in the process, Wolves look to have their work cut out here.
