Chelsea recorded a second win on the trot in the Premier League with a 3-2 win away from home at Luton Town to sign off 2023 in positive fashion and The Blues will be hoping they can pick up where they left off when they play host to local rivals, Fulham, when the two sides meet in this Saturday lunchtime clash at Stamford Bridge with Fulham looking to post back-to-back wins after a 2-1 home win against Arsenal.

Back-to-back wins against Crystal Palace and the aforementioned Luton Town will have given Chelsea and manager, Mauricio Pochettino, a welcome boost over the festive period and has helped Chelsea up to 10th place in the Premier League table but there's still a lot of room for improvement for the hosts as they find themselves 11 points adrift of the top five pack.

Chelsea have had their fair share of problematic results in the English top flight in recent times as the hosts have been handed defeats by the likes of Newcastle United, Manchester United, Everton and Wolves respectively, but it's interesting to note that each of these four losses were incurred on their travels.

Meanwhile at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are unbeaten in their last four home games and have won their last three games on the trot.

Fulham occupy 13th place in the Premier League table where The Cottagers possess a useful nine-point cushion above the relegation zone ahead of Saturday lunchtime's date with nearby rivals, Chelsea, thanks to the 2-1 home win against Arsenal on New Years Eve.

That win against The Gunners would have been welcome relief for Fulham who had previously stumbled to three defeats on the trot in the domestic top flight after being handed losses by Newcastle United, Burnley and Bournemouth respectively, two of which were incurred on their travels.

Form and results on home soil at Craven Cottage have been reasonable enough as Fulham have won six of their 10 home games so far this season but results away from home have been poor by comparison as Marco Silva's side have managed to pick up just the one win on their travels so far this term.

An early season 1-0 win away from home at Everton handed Fulham a promising start on the road but the visitors have been unable to replicate that success in following games as The Cottagers have failed to win any of their subsequent nine outings on the road, losing their last four away games on the trot.
