Chelsea collected a fourth league win on the trot in the Premier League on Wednesday night with a 2-1 victory away from home at Brighton as The Blues continued their impressive resurgence under manager Mauricio Pochettino, and what seemed to be a highly unlikely prospect of a top five finish is now very much on the cards for the London club ahead of this final game of the season against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

After having been handed back-to-back defeats in the Premier League to the likes of Liverpool and Wolves in 4-1 and 4-2 losses respectively, Chelsea found themselves occupying a disappointing 11th place in the English top flight table and a significant 13 points behind fifth placed Tottenham but subsequent results for Chelsea have seen a dramatic turnaround.

Bournemouth meanwhile slipped to two defeats on the trot last weekend when The Cherries were dealt a 2-1 loss at home to Brentford which followed a previous 3-0 defeat away from home at Arsenal, leaving Bournemouth in 11th place in the Premier League table but still a significant 22 points above the relegation zone.

Success is relative and Bournemouth will be more than happy with their efforts this season when the squad and manager Andoni Iralo reflect upon this top flight campaign as the south coast side can achieve their best finish in the Premier League since the 2016/17 season along with picking up the most points in total since playing in the Premier League.

Bournemouth also experienced a winless run from the end of December through to towards the end of February which spanned across seven games and included slipping to four defeats but since then, The Cherries have lost just a further four games in their subsequent 12 matches overall.

However, the south coast visitors have struggled for results on the road in recent times as they have won just twice in their previous nine outings on their travels along with being dealt five defeats as well.
