Burnley were dealt another loss in the Premier League last weekend when The Clarets suffered a 2-1 defeat away from home at Tottenham which followed a previous heavy 4-1 loss at home to Newcastle United and these two defeats have now sealed Burnley's fate as they head into this final game of the Premier League season knowing they will be plying their trade in the Championship next season.

Burnley remain sitting second from bottom in the table and now five points adrift of fourth from bottom upcoming visitors, Nottingham Forest, and having managed to register just two wins from their previous 19 games overall in the English top flight, Sunday's hosts look to have their work cut out at Turf Moor for this upcoming encounter.

Victories against Brentford and Sheffield United were only too rare successes for Vincent Kompany's side as they fought bravely against relegation but 10 defeats within these previous 19 games was just too much an obstacle to clear, despite losing just three of these 10 defeats in their last 10 games.

Burnley have also managed to gain just two home wins throughout the whole of this season's top flight campaign along with being handed 12 defeats, so The Clarets will do well to avoid another loss here.

Nottingham Forest know they are virtually safe for another season in the Premier League as Luton Town have to win by 13 clear goals against Fulham when they entertain The Cottagers at Kenilworth Road in their final game in the English top flight, and although Nottingham Forest lost 3-2 at home to Chelsea in midweek, the east midlands club look to have survived by the skin of their teeth.

Forest have also experienced something of a bumpy ride in the Premier League in the past few weeks as Nuno Espirito Santo's side have collected just two wins out of their last 12 matches overall which came by virtue of wins against Fulham and Sheffield United.

The Tricky Trees have also lost seven of these previous 12 matches so there looks to be no guarantees of success here for the visitors at Turf Moor but their one glimmer of hope for a positive result here in Lancashire on Sunday afternoon is that they have picked up three wins on the road so far this season.

Victories registered at the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle United and Sheffield United show that Forest are at least capable of putting together a winning performance on their travels.

Both Burnley and Nottingham Forest have produced inconsistent and disappointing results in recent times and indeed, this season overall, but Nottingham Forest may just sneak a narrow win here against a poor Burnley outfit.
