Burnley remained in the bottom three of the Premier League table following their 1-1 draw away from home at Brighton last weekend and the hosts face a long, tough battle against relegation having managed to collect just two wins so far upon their return to the English top flight, while Everton have seemingly gone from strength to strength after being handed that 10-point deduction as The Toffees recorded a third league win on the trot with a solid 2-0 home win against Chelsea last time out.

Both of Burnley's two wins to date have been achieved against their fellow promoted sides from last season's Championship with victories over Luton Town and Sheffield United but there's been little else to cheer about for The Clarets' fans as their side have slipped to 12 defeats within their 16 matches played to date.

The bigger picture shows Burnley have managed to scrape together just these two wins from their previous 20 games overall in the Premier League which includes no fewer than 15 defeats, so Vincent Kompany's men once again find themselves up against it.

Everton continued their impressive comeback by collecting a third league win on the trot last weekend when they saw off a lacklustre Chelsea outfit at Goodison Park and having previously picked up vital wins against Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United as well, The Toffees have now climbed out of the relegation zone and now occupy fourth from bottom spot where they hold a four-point cushion over third from bottom placed club, Luton Town.

Since losing 2-0 to Liverpool in the merseyside derby in October, Everton have lost just one further game in their subsequent seven games overall in the top flight which came in the shape of a 3-0 loss at home to Manchester United but more importantly, Sean Dyche's side have also picked up five wins during what has become a potential ‘great escape'.

Earlier wins against West Ham and Crystal Palace were both achieved on their travels and indeed, Everton have picked up more points on the road than at Goodison Park which is a good sign for this upcoming encounter at Turf Moor where former Burnley manager, Sean Dyche, will return with The Toffees this Saturday evening.
