Burnley were handed a third defeat on the trot in the Premier League last weekend when they suffered a 2-1 loss away from home at Bournemouth as they had a late equaliser ruled out while Crystal Palace also tasted defeat in the shape of a 2-1 loss at home to Tottenham last Friday night which resulted with The Eagles dropping down the Premier League table to 13th place.

Burnley themselves sit second from bottom in the Premier League table and perhaps this comes as no surprise as the hosts have managed to capture just one win upon their return to the English top flight following promotion from the Championship at the end of last season.

That singular success came in the form of a 2-1 win away from home at fellow promoted side, Luton Town, but aside from a point gained in a draw with Nottingham Forest, again on the road, there's been little else for Burnley fans to cheer about so far this season.

Having been handed no fewer than eight defeats within their opening 10 games of this new campaign, it may be prudent to avoid the straight win markets where Burnley are concerned but goals may be in short supply against Crystal Palace as four of the last six meetings between these two clubs have resulted in Under 2.5 goals.

Crystal Palace also tasted defeat last time out in the English top flight as The Eagles lost 2-1 at home to a resurgent Tottenham outfit which followed on from a previous heavy 4-0 capitulation away from home at Newcastle United, so the visitors may also be in tentative mood on Saturday afternoon.

However, Crystal Palace have fared a little better than their Lancashire hosts so far in this Premier League campaign as Roy Hodgson's side have collected three wins to date this term with victories gained over Sheffield United, Wolves and most impressive of all, a 1-0 win away at Manchester United.

Interestingly, two of these three wins gained by Palace have been achieved on their travels and being on the road again this Saturday at Turf Moor might actually benefit the London club as they'll look to keep things tight and hit Burnley on the counter-attack.

Goals could be at a premium though in this Saturday's clash at Turf Moor as six of Crystal Palace's 10 league games to date this term have resulted in Under 2.5 goals which includes four clean sheets for Roy Hodgson's side.
