Brighton will be eager to return to the home surroundings of their AMEX Stadium for Saturday afternoon's clash against Everton as The Seagulls recorded an emphatic 5-0 victory away from home at Sheffield United last weekend and the south coast hosts will be looking for more of the same on home soil, while Everton gained a point last week with a 1-1 draw at home with Crystal Palace which has just about kept The Toffees' heads above water for the time being.

Brighton have produced something of a mixed bag of results in recent months in the English top flight as the hosts have registered just five wins from their last 13 games overall, three of these wins being achieved on home soil at their AMEX Stadium but Roberto de Zerbi's side have also been dealt four defeats within this period as well.

Last week's comprehensive win at Sheffield United has helped lift Brighton up into seventh place in the Premier League table but they still trail Tottenham and the top five pack by a significant nine-point margin ahead of this weekend's top flight action.

Nevertheless, results continue to be solid and consistent at home where Brighton are now unbeaten in their last 10 matches.

Everton picked up a valuable point by way of a 1-1 draw at home with Crystal Palace last Saturday but although the visitors still sit just outside of the relegation zone, that result has nevertheless extended The Toffees' winless run in the Premier League to eight games overall.

Four defeats within these eight games have seen Sean Dyche's side slip to losses at the hands of Tottenham, Manchester City (at home), Wolves and Manchester City (away) while points picked up in four draws have just about kept Everton out of the bottom three for the time being.

Everton had previously strung together an impressive four-match winning streak in the Premier League around the same time as they were handed a 10-point deduction as the merseyside club refused to give up and recorded important wins against Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Burnley but the visitors have been unable to maintain that impressive momentum in subsequent weeks.

To underline this, Everton have lost three out of their last four away games in the English top flight following defeats on the road at Tottenham, Wolves and Manchester City which does not bode well for this upcoming trip down to the south coast to take on a solid Brighton outfit in their own backyard.
