Aston Villa grabbed a late winner in the shape of defender Lucas Digne to make it three wins on the trot in the Premier League at Luton Town's expense last Saturday evening at Kenilworth Road and The Villains now return to Villa Park for this crunch top five clash against Tottenham who secured a 3-1 home win against Crystal Palace last weekend but nevertheless, Spurs still remain in fifth spot in the Premier League table.

Previous wins against Fulham and Nottingham Forest along with the aforementioned victory over Luton Town has helped the west midlands hosts maintain their position in the top four of the Premier League table and Unai Emery's side know that Champions League football for next season is now firmly in their own hands from now until the end of the season.

Since the arrival of former Arsenal boss, Unai Emery, to Villa Park the hosts haven't looked back and the west midlands club are enjoying their best season in the English top flight since way back in the 1995/96 season when they finished in fourth place.

Tottenham are now seemingly on a more even keel after having had to endure a sticky patch of results which saw Ange Postecoglou's side winless in a five-game spell from early November through to early December which consisted of four defeats and a draw, as the visitors have lost just a further two games in their subsequent 11 games overall.

Spurs' improved sequence of results includes picking up seven wins within these last 11 matches but it's interesting to note that six of these seven wins were achieved on home soil at their Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while results away from home have left a lot to be desired in recent times.

Tottenham's season started brightly enough away from home as Spurs were unbeaten in their opening six outings but since then, Postecoglou's charges have managed to capture just one further win on the road which came in a 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest.
