QPR's dismal winless run in the Championship was extended to six games following their recent 2-1 defeat at home to Cardiff City on New Years Day which resulted in QPR dropping down into the relegation zone where the hosts sit second from bottom in the table, while Watford remained in 10th place following a second draw on the trot, picking up a point in an entertaining 3-3 draw away from home at Plymouth Argyle.

It's been a long and largely unsuccessful campaign in the Championship so far this season for QPR who head into Sunday lunchtime's clash with Watford on the back of four defeats within their last six matches overall in the English top flight which have seen The R's slump to losses at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday, Southampton, Millwall and Cardiff City respectively.

The London club enjoyed a brief spell of success from the end of November through to early December as the hosts recorded three wins on the trot against Stoke City, Preston NE and Hull City but QPR's mini revival was brought to an end by failing to win any of their subsequent six games overall.

Indeed, Valerien Ismael's side have suffered just three losses in their last 16 matches in the Championship whilst picking up seven wins in the process which has helped lift the visitors up into the top half of the Championship table.

This upturn in form is in stark contrast to Watford's start to this campaign which produced just two wins from their opening 10 matches overall which also included being handed no fewer than five defeats within this period.

However, results away from home have also improved and benefitted from Watford's encouraging spell of form as the visitors have lost just once in their last eight away games whilst collecting four wins, so The Hornets will be confident that they can wrestle control over QPR on Sunday lunchtime.

In the earlier corresponding fixture between QPR and Watford in early August, Watford ran out 4-0 winners and the visitors perhaps look the more likely to take the spoils in this upcoming clash as well.
