Here is our QPR v Derby tip and game preview. Based on our detailed analysis of statistics listed below and other factors, we predicted both teams to not score in this game, under 2.5 goals, and a QPR home win. Our confidence in this pick was high relative to other picks.
QPR slipped to a third league defeat in four games in the Championship on Tuesday night when The R's were dealt a disappointing 1-0 loss away from home at Coventry City but the London club will now return to Loftus Road for Friday night's tussle against strugglers, Derby County, where the hosts stand a decent chance of returning to winning ways.
Derby County picked up a valuable point on Tuesday night in the English second tier as The Rams drew 0-0 at home with Oxford United at Pride Park but nevertheless, the east midlands club have now failed to win any of their previous nine games in the Championship, slipping to seven defeats in the process.
QPR have been handed defeats in recent weeks by the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall and the aforementioned Coventry City but in their last home game at Loftus Road, QPR registered a 2-1 home win against Blackburn Rovers which will give Martà Cifuentes's side a reason to feel confident about their chances here on Friday night.
Indeed, The R's have collected six wins from their last seven games at Loftus Road in the Championship and in each of these six victories, QPR have also scored two goals or more in the process as well.
Derby County's winless run in the English second tier was extended to nine games on Tuesday night but the point gained at home against Oxford United was enough to lift The Rams up into fourth from bottom in the Championship table and out of the relegation zone for the time being.
The east midlands club are reported to be holding talks with former Derby County player and the current manager of Blackburn Rovers, John Eustace, who is looking to trigger a release clause in his contract, but whoever takes the Pride Park hot-seat will need to work out a way to halt seven defeats within their last nine games.
The bigger picture shows Derby County have managed to register just two wins within their previous 18 matches overall in the Championship which were gained over the likes of Portsmouth and West Brom, whilst also being handed 11 defeats as well.
It should also be noted that both of these wins were recorded on home soil at Pride Park but results away from home have been simply appalling as The Rams have managed to pick up just the single win from their 16 outings on the road to date which also includes being dealt no fewer than 10 defeats as well.
QPR v Derby County Verdict
QPR's recent flurry of defeats have been disappointing but form and results at home have continued to be strong so the London hosts look the favourites to take the spoils here on Friday night.
Therefore, our main bet will be QPR win @ 2.25
Other side bets worth considering:
QPR win & Under 4 goals @ 2.75
Correct Score: QPR 2-0 @ 10.00
