Friday night's clash in the English Championship features this upcoming encounter between two former Premier League clubs, Leicester City and Leeds United, when the two sides face off at the King Power Stadium in what is a top three fixture with both sides looking to pick up the all-important three points in their respective quests to return to the English top flight.

Following relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season, Leicester City have bounced back in impressive fashion in this new Championship campaign as The Foxes sit at the summit of the Championship table and five points clear of second placed Ipswich Town prior to Friday night's encounter with Leeds United.

Leeds United also suffered relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season but the Yorkshire club have also managed to shrug off their bitter disappointment as the visitors occupy third place in the Championship table but early indications suggest Daniel Farke's side may have to make do with a play-off spot as they trail second placed Ipswich Town by a nine-point margin ahead of this weekend's action.

Leeds had produced a slow and rather sluggish start though to this new Championship campaign as the Yorkshire club had registered just two wins from their opening seven games, which came in the form of victories over Ipswich Town and Millwall but had lost just once in a 1-0 defeat away from home at Birmingham City.

However, subsequent matches has brought about five wins from their preceding seven games prior to this upcoming trip to the east midlands on Friday night as Farke's side have collected important wins against Watford, QPR, Bristol City, Norwich City and Huddersfield Town, the latter being a particularly heavy defeat of The Terriers in the Yorkshire derby last weekend.

With a mixed bag of results to their name away from home though so far this season, picking up three wins but also being dealt three defeats, Leeds United will do well to get anything from this Friday's clash at the King Power Stadium.
