Randers vs Aarhus Preview

Randers take on Aarhus in the Danish top flight Championship Group at their Cepheus Park Randers with the hosts at least looking to avoid a fifth defeat on the trot in the Superliga but there's little else for the home side to play for as they now sit second from bottom in the table.

Although Randers had previously put together an encouraging run of five games unbeaten in the Championship group which included wins against Aalborg, Copenhagen and Brondby, the latter being a comprehensive 4-0 win away from home, the hosts have since imploded in dramatic fashion.

Randers have subsequently slumped to four defeats on the trot, suffering losses to Viborg (home and away), Brondby and Nordsjaelland, which has left them sitting second from bottom in the group and no chance of catching up their visitors, Aarhus, as they trail the away side by a seven-point margin with just two games remaining.

In addition, Randers have also struggled for results at home as well in recent times as the hosts have managed to capture just two wins from their last 10 games on home soil.

Aarhus have fared much better than their hosts in recent weeks despite losing 4-3 away from home at Copenhagen last time out but having previously put together a four-match unbeaten run in the Championship group, Aarhus have managed to keep in touch with the top three clubs, including third-placed Viborg who are just three points ahead.

Recent wins against Nordsjaelland and indeed, Viborg, in 1-0 and 3-0 victories respectively have been welcome and timely wins and these should also give Aarhus plenty of confidence ahead of this upcoming trip to the Cepheus Park Randers.

Aarhus have also performed well away from home this season too, and their ability to grind out results on their travels have been underlined by the fact that the visitors have lost just two of their last nine games away from home, whilst also collecting no fewer than five wins in the process, thus making Aarhus a dangerous customer for hosts, Randers.

Victories at Lyngby, Aalborg, Randers, Viborg and Nordsjaelland should stand the visitors in good stead here on Tuesday night.

Randers find themselves stuck in a bit of a rut of late in the Danish top flight having lost their last four games on the trot and they look to have their work cut out when facing an in-form Aarhus outfit on Tuesday night, especially as Aarhus recorded a 2-1 win against Randers in their last visit to the Cepheus Park Randers back in March.
