The quarter-finals of the Gold Cup continue on Sunday and features this upcoming clash between Guatemala and Jamaica at the TQL Stadium with both sides fighting for a place in the semi-finals of this year's competition.

Guatemala have enjoyed a successful Gold Cup campaign so far as they finished top in Group D which also comprised of the likes of Canada, Guadeloupe and Cuba, and as Guatemala went unbeaten throughout the group stage which saw them pick up two wins and a draw, they actually ousted Canada into top spot.

Jamaica's path through to the quarter-finals of the Gold Cup unfolded in similar manner to that of Guatemala as they held the favourites, USA, to a 1-1 draw in the opening game of the group and then followed that up with wins against the lesser two opponents, a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Trinidad & Tobago and then a 5-0 thrashing of St Kitts & Nevis to secure their place in the last eight of the competition.

Jamaica have actually registered just two wins out of their last 13 matches in all competitions though which also consists of six draws and five defeats but results at Gold Cup level have been fairly encouraging for Heimir Hallgrimsson's side.

The Reggae Boyz have lost just four of their last 18 matches at this level which includes three defeats to USA and a loss to Costa Rica but they have also collected nine wins in the process so they perhaps look the more likely to find a way to win this quarter-final tie.
