Salzburg head into this upcoming 3rd qualifying round tie in the Champions League on the back of a 3-2 win away from home at Grazer AK on the opening day of the new Austrian Bundesliga season on the weekend which incidentally became an eighth win in their last nine games in all competitions, while Dutch visitors, Twente, were involved in a third draw on the trot in their pre-season clash with Schalke 04 which resulted in a dour 0-0 stalemate.

Since recording comprehensive thrashings of Hartberg 5-1 and LASK 7-1 in their last two matches of the previous Austrian top flight campaign which also secured a spot in this 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League, Salzburg have put together a seven-game unbeaten sequence to start their new season in solid fashion.

Defeats on the road at PSV, Ajax and AZ Alkmaar in the Dutch Eredivisie may just prove to be a factor in determining the outcome of Twente's upcoming trip to the Red Bull Arena especially as the visitors have managed to capture just three wins in their previous 12 outings on the road, whilst also slipping to five defeats as well.

Form on the road in previous Champions League campaigns has also been disappointing as Twente have managed to muster just one win in their previous seven ties on the road, including four defeats.
