The Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadium in Istanbul provides the venue for this season's Champions League final which will be contested between the Premier League's Manchester City and their Serie A counterparts, Inter Milan, with both teams eager to be crowned winners and reach the pinnacle of European club football.

Manchester City secured a second item of silverware in the space of 10 days on Saturday afternoon when they registered a 2-1 win against local rivals, Manchester United, in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium which followed Pep Guardiola's side picking up the Premier League title.

City's desire to win the treble is not in any doubt especially when striker Erling Haaland could be seen saying “one more to go” to his team-mates after the cup final victory and having lost just once in their last 27 matches in all competitions, not many people would bet against Manchester City from finally capturing the holy grail of European club football, the Champions League trophy.

18 of Manchester City's last 27 games in all competitions have also resulted in Over 2.5 goals and this looks a decent option particularly as this is a final after all, and being played on neutral ground as well.

Domestically, the best that Inter Milan can hope for in Serie A is to leapfrog Lazio into a second place finish in the Italian top flight but they will be unable to catch up the runaway title winners, Napoli, despite winning seven of their last eight matches in Serie A.

The one defeat came in the form of a 3-1 loss away from home at Napoli but the bigger picture does give Simone Inzaghi's side plenty of belief and confidence ahead of this Champions League final in Istanbul as Inter Milan have won 11 of their last 12 matches in all competitions, including a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina in the final of the Coppa Italia.

Seven of these last 12 matches for Inter Milan have also produced three goals or more and with the likes of Argentinian forward Lautaro Martinez (21 goals) spearheading Inzaghi's attack, the Italian outfit are also capable of contributing to the goal-tally next Saturday night.

Interestingly, the only matches that Manchester City and Inter Milan have played against each other have been club friendlies but nevertheless, all three of these previous encounters have yielded Over 2.5 goals with each result ending in a 3-0 win (one for Manchester City, the preceding two for Inter Milan).

If Inter Milan are to win this final then they will have to contain Manchester City for as long as possible and try and hit them on the break or from a set-piece; this may be easier said than done though as City have been relentless in their pursuit for goals and this may force Inter's hand here, especially as Erling Haaland is due a goal.
