Borussia Dortmund were dealt a heavy 4-1 loss away from home at RB Leipzig in their weekend game in the German Bundesliga which wasn't exactly perfect preparation for this upcoming Champions League semi-final 1st leg tie despite holding home advantage at their SIGNAL IDUNA PARK, while PSG were also denied success on the weekend in the French top flight as the Paris based club were held to a 3-3 draw at home by Le Havre.

Borussia Dortmund have produced some indifferent results of late in all competitions as the hosts have picked up just two wins from their last six matches overall which came in the form of wins against Borussia M'gladbach and Atletico Madrid, the latter being a 4-2 home win against the Spanish club in the previous round of the Champions League.

However, the German hosts have also been dealt three defeats within these previous six games which have resulted in defeats at the hands of Stuttgart, Atletico Madrid and the aforementioned RB Leipzig which suggests avoiding the straight win markets for this upcoming encounter.

Results on home soil though have been more promising for Dortmund as the hosts have lost just twice in their last 11 home games, while five of these 11 games have also resulted in Under 2.5 goals.

PSG were held to a 3-3 draw at home by lowly Le Havre in the French top flight on the weekend but nevertheless that result extended PSG's unbeaten run to four games in all competitions which includes picking up wins against Lyon and Lorient in Ligue 1 along with a resounding 4-1 victory away from home at Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Although PSG suffered a 3-2 defeat at home by Barcelona in the 1st leg, that has been PSG's only defeat in their last 32 matches in all competitions which is some record indeed.

PSG have also produced a number of impressive displays on their travels as well particularly since mid-November of last year as the French visitors are unbeaten in their last 15 outings on the road whilst also collecting no fewer than 12 wins in the process so Luis Enrique's side will also be confident that they can produce a positive result here on Wednesday night at the SIGNAL IDUNA PARK.

Both Borussia Dortmund and PSG have been involved in a number of high-scoring games of late but this upcoming encounter in the 1st leg of this Champions League semi-final may well be a much tighter and more circumspect affair as neither side will want to be heading into next week's return leg chasing the tie.
