We cross continents over to Africa for our next match preview and take a look ahead to this upcoming AFCON Qualifier clash between Cameroon and Burundi in what has boiled down to a ‘winner takes all' encounter at the Stade Omnisport Roumdé Adjia in this Group C showdown.

Both Cameroon and Burundi sit on four points apiece after their first three games of the group stage and as Kenya had already been eliminated from the tournament due to suspension from all internationals and Namibia top of the group, it's all down to this final game.

Cameroon began their qualifying campaign in positive fashion with a 1-0 win away from home at Tuesday night's upcoming opponents, Burundi, and although the hosts have since managed to pick up just one point from their subsequent two matches (a 1-1 draw and then a 2-1 loss to Namibia), the hosts will be hoping they can do the ‘double' over Burundi in this return leg.

Cameroon possess a strong record of results in AFCON Qualifiers though as the hosts have lost just three of their last 28 qualifiers which should stand them in good stead for this clash.

Burundi will be hoping they can post back-to-back wins in Group C following their impressive 3-2 home win against Namibia last time out back in June which kept their hopes alive of making it through to the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

The visitors had previously made a slow and sluggish start to their AFCON qualifying campaign as they picked up just one point from their opening two games in the group stage which came in the form of a 1-1 draw away from home at Namibia but then slipped to a 1-0 loss on home soil to Cameroon.

Burundi will now be hoping they can transfer that winning momentum into this return leg at the Stade Omnisport Roumdé Adjia as they look to turn the tables on their previous victors but having managed to capture just three wins from their last 14 AFCON qualifiers overall, this may prove to be a bridge too far for Burundi on Tuesday night.

However, that is not all; Burundi have registered just two wins from their previous 18 outings on their travels in the AFCON qualifiers and this sort of form must surely see Burundi having their work cut out against Cameroon.

There has only been one previous meeting between Cameroon and Burundi which was played in early June of this year in the earlier fixture in Group C which Cameroon won 1-0 but this upcoming encounter on Tuesday night now has much more importance attached to it and we could see a much more open and attacking encounter with a few goals for good measure.
