Bologna will be looking to post a third win on the trot in their third home game on the bounce on Wednesday night when they entertain Fiorentina at their Stadio Renato Dall'Ara following their recent comprehensive 4-0 rout of Lecce on Sunday in Serie A, while Fiorentina returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion as they brushed aside Frosinone with a 5-1 home win on the weekend.

Recent back-to-back wins in the Italian top flight against Sassuolo 4-2 and Lecce 4-0 have seen the hosts return to winning ways after enduring a four-match winless run in Serie A which consisted of two draws and two defeats; points picked up in stalemates with Genoa and AC Milan were outweighed by losses at the hands of Udinese and Cagliari, both of which were away from home.

A point picked up by way of a 2-2 draw at home with Udinese was swamped by suffering three defeats at the hands of Sassuolo, Inter Milan and Lecce respectively, and although they responded in emphatic fashion on the weekend, the prospects of an away win at a solid and well-organised Bologna outfit in their own backyard does seem unlikely.

Prior to their recent slump, Fiorentina had put together a promising looking five-match unbeaten sequence which consisted of four wins and a draw and victories against the likes of Salernitana, Verona, Monza and Torino, but results away from home have failed to live up to their previous form.

Indeed, Fiorentina have managed just one win from their last six outings on the road whilst slipping to losses at Lazio, AC Milan, Sassuolo and Lecce, so the visitors may have their work cut out here on Wednesday night.
