Lyon registered a fifth win on the trot in all competitions over the weekend when they thumped Le Havre 4-0 win away from home in the French Ligue 1, while Besiktas also collected a win on the domestic scene with a solid 2-0 home win against Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

The French hosts had previously captured important wins in this season's Europa League competition with wins against the likes of Olympiakos and Rangers, the latter being a particularly impressive 4-1 thrashing of The Gers at Ibrox, along with a couple of wins collected in the domestic top flight as well.

The Turkish visitors had also slipped to a heavy 4-0 loss away from home at Dutch giants Ajax in their opening game of this season's Europa League, so this upcoming trip to face in-form Lyon in their own backyard looks to be a daunting prospect for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side.

However, the bigger picture will still give Besiktas plenty of belief and confidence as they make their way to the Groupama Stadium as the Turkish outfit have been handed just the two defeats in their last 17 matches in all competitions.
