Dutch hosts, Feyenoord, have a second bite of the European cherry as they prepare for this two-legged round of 16 clash against Italian side Roma, as Feyenoord finished in third spot in Group E of the Champions League and therefore drop down into the knockout rounds of the Europa League, while Roma finished runners-up in Group G of this competition.

Feyenoord bring an impressive sequence of results into this 1st leg tie at their Stadion Feijenoord as the hosts are unbeaten in their last nine matches overall and having collected no fewer than seven wins in the process, Arne Slot's side will be confident that they can produce a positive start to this two-legged affair on home soil.

Following a four-match winning streak which included wins in the Italian top flight against Verona, Salernitana and Cagliari, the visitors then suffered a 4-2 loss at home to Serie A league leaders Inter Milan on the weekend which was not the best of preparations for this upcoming European tie against Feyenoord.

Results away from home have been fairly disappointing for Jose Mourinho's side as the visitors have managed to capture just three wins from their last 11 outings on the road in all competitions which include victories in Serie A at Sassuolo and Salernitana but having also been dealt six defeats within this period as well, this upcoming 1st leg tie in Rotterdam may be a tough challenge for Roma.

On the Europa League front, Roma have recorded just two wins from their last 12 away trips in this competition with wins at minnows HJK and Sheriff but the Italian side have also been handed six defeats as well, so this does not bode well for Thursday evening's clash.
