Manchester United vs Spurs Preview

Manchester United continued their inconsistent start to this new Premier League season in last weekend's action as the Red Devils were held to a 0-0 draw away from home at Crystal Palace, while Tottenham registered a comprehensive 3-1 home win against London rivals Brentford last weekend at their Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but the north London outfit have also produced a mixed start to their new season as well.

Manchester United started the new season with all three points with a 1-0 home win against Fulham but Erik ten Hag's side were then handed back-to-back defeats at the hands of Brighton and Liverpool which put United back to square one, but the hosts have once again rallied in their subsequent two games.

Nevertheless, a 3-1 home win against Brentford in last weekend's Premier League action will give Tottenham renewed confidence ahead of this upcoming trip to Old Trafford but it is worth mentioning that both of Spurs' wins so far this term have been achieved on home soil at their Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

A previous comprehensive 4-0 rout of strugglers Everton underline this but the bigger picture suggests Tottenham may also struggle to grab the all-important three points in this upcoming fixture against Manchester United as the visitors have managed to capture just four wins within their last 12 league matches.

Three of these four wins have been posted on home soil while seven of these 12 games have also resulted in defeat for Ange Postecoglou's side, so the straight win markets look a fairly risky prospect for this upcoming encounter on Sunday afternoon.

Results away from home have also been poor where Tottenham have been concerned as Spurs have registered just two wins in their last 12 outings on the road.
