Manchester City chalked up a fifth league win on the trot in the Premier League following their Monday night 3-1 win away from home at Brentford and in turn reduced the deficit between themselves and the league leaders Liverpool to just a two- point margin, while Everton's winless sequence in the English top flight was extended to six games overall following a 2-2 draw at home with Tottenham last weekend.

Manchester City are now just starting to build some ominous form in recent weeks in the Premier League as The Citizens have now won each of their last five games on the trot which consist of victories gained over Everton, She?eld United, Newcastle United, Burnley and Brentford respectively which has helped Pep Guardiola's side close the gap on Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side.
