New Years Day brings us this Premier League fixture between Liverpool and Newcastle United at Anfield with the hosts heading into January on the back of a 2-0 win away from home at Burnley which extended their unbeaten run in the top flight to 12 games while Newcastle United slumped to a fourth defeat in five games following a dismal 3-1 defeat at home to strugglers, Nottingham Forest.
