Leicester vs Bournemouth Preview

Leicester City are another club facing early pressure in the Premier League as The Foxes find themselves hovering just above the relegation zone following a 4-2 loss away from home at Arsenal last weekend, while Bournemouth made light work of their south coast rivals, Southampton, last Saturday as The Cherries ran out comfortable 3-1 winners at home.

Following automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of last season, Leicester City would have been in confident mood as they prepared for life back in the English top flight after an absence of just one season but manager Enzo Maresca left to manage Chelsea and incoming boss Steve Cooper has found himself out of his depth in the early stages of this new term.

An encouraging point against Tottenham on the opening day of the season with a 1-1 draw at the King Power Stadium nevertheless gave Leicester City a decent start to the new campaign but although The Foxes have picked up further points in draws with Crystal Palace and Everton, the hosts have also stumbled to three defeats as well.

Losses at the hands of Fulham, Aston Villa and Arsenal have seen Leicester City concede eight goals while managing to score just four in reply and this does not bode well for this upcoming visit from Bournemouth despite holding home advantage.

Bournemouth managed to bounce back from two recent defeats on the trot to Chelsea and Liverpool last Monday night when they registered a comfortable 3-1 home win against south coast rivals Southampton and The Cherries will now be chasing back-to-back wins in the Premier League for the first time since the end of April last season.

The south coast visitors have produced a mixed bag of results in the early weeks of this new Premier League campaign as Andoni Iraola's side have registered two wins, two draws and two losses to date this term.

Important wins against Everton and Southampton have been complemented by picking up points in draws with Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United and although Bournemouth have suffered losses at the hands of Chelsea and Liverpool, these would have been bonus games if the visitors had managed to pick up anything in these fixtures anyway.

The overall picture shows Bournemouth have managed just a sprinkling of wins on their travels as well in the Premier League, collecting just three victories from their previous 13 outings but this sort of form still appears to be better than Leicester City's poor start to this new season.
