Brighton could climb as high as fifth place if they manage to take all three points in Saturday's clash against lowly Burnley at their AMEX Stadium after securing a 2-1 home win against Brentford in midweek which made it two wins in three games for The Seagulls, while Burnley were handed a narrow 1-0 defeat away from home at Wolves and now face a tough trip down to the south coast this weekend.

A 3-2 win away from home at Nottingham Forest was Brighton's other win in their last three games and although Roberto de Zerbi's side were dealt a 3-2 loss away from home at Chelsea in between, the hosts now return to home advantage for Saturday's encounter where they will be looking to build upon a solid looking six-match unbeaten run on their own patch.

Points picked up in draws with Liverpool, Fulham and Sheffield United have been further boosted by wins picked up against Newcastle United, Bournemouth and Brentford and these will undoubtedly give The Seagulls plenty of confidence that they can take the spoils in this upcoming clash on Saturday.

The bigger picture shows Brighton have lost just twice in their last 16 home games in the English top flight while goals have also featured on a regular basis as 12 of Brighton's 15 league matches this season have resulted in Over 2.5 goals.

Burnley slumped to a seventh defeat in eight matches in midweek when The Clarets suffered a 1-0 defeat in the west midlands against a Wolves outfit who have been desperately unlucky in recent weeks, while the Lancashire club reverted to type and now find themselves sitting second from bottom in the Premier League table.

Four of these seven defeats that have been handed to Burnley have been inflicted upon Vincent Kompany's men on their travels, losing at Brentford, Bournemouth, Arsenal and Wolves, three of which Burnley might have fancied gaining points against, so to lose all four games on the road would have been a big blow.

League wins overall have been tough for Burnley to come by upon their return to the Premier League this term as the visitors have managed to collect just two victories throughout this season's campaign to date, picking up vital wins against Luton Town and Sheffield United, the latter being a 5-0 demolition of The Blades at Turf Moor.

With just one away win all season and having lost their last four away games on the trot, it's hard to see how Burnley can avoid almost certain defeat at Brighton on Saturday.
