West Brom will be desperate to break a run of seven games without a win in the Championship after two defeats and then five draws on the trot, while Burnley will be eager to return to winning ways following their disappointing 1-0 defeat away from home at Millwall on Sunday afternoon.

Back-to-back losses against Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough have been followed by no fewer than five stalemates on the trot and this has resulted in The Baggies dropping down to sixth place in the Championship table.

The west midlands hosts had previously produced a promising start to this Championship campaign as West Brom put together a solid and commanding six-match unbeaten sequence which consisted of picking up five wins and a draw.

Burnley dropped down to fourth place in the Championship table after being dealt a 1-0 defeat in the nation's capital on Sunday by way of defeat away at Millwall but although The Clarets hit the road again on Thursday night to make their way to The Hawthorns, the Lancashire club have suffered just the single loss in their last 10 matches overall.

Four wins and five draws have kept Burnley in the race for possible automatic promotion and all three points in the west midlands on Thursday night along with other results going their way could see Scott Parker's side move as high as second place in the Championship table.

The visitors have been handed just two defeats so far in this season's second tier campaign, the other loss being a 1-0 defeat away from home at high-flying Sunderland while goals have been a scarce commodity where Burnley have been concerned as well.

Indeed, no fewer than nine out of Burnley's last 10 games in the Championship have resulted in Under 2.5 goals being scored and this does not bode well for an entertaining and high-scoring fixture away from home against West Brom either!
