Luton Town were dealt a second defeat on the trot last weekend in the Championship as The Hatters slipped to another disappointing loss which came by way of a 3-2 loss away from home at Coventry City, while West Brom's winless run in the Championship was extended to six games overall following a disappointing 0-0 draw at home with Cardiff City.

Luton Town have now dropped down into the relegation zone in the Championship table following that latest defeat at Coventry City and having managed to capture just one win in their last six matches overall in the English third tier, Friday night's hosts look to have their work cut out despite returning to their home surroundings.

Luton's singular success within these last six games came in the form of a 3-0 home win against Watford but four losses being dealt out to The Hatters by the likes of Plymouth Argyle, Sheffield United, Sunderland and Coventry City respectively have dumped Rob Edwards' side in early trouble in the bottom three places in the division.

Since those two aforementioned losses, West Brom have at least picked up a few useful points in the subsequent four stalemates with Millwall, Oxford United, Blackburn Rovers and Cardiff City and manager Carlos Corberan will be urging his side to push even harder for the three points on Friday night in order to revive their promotion hopes.

Prior to the two losses, West Brom had started the new Championship campaign in positive fashion as The Baggies produced a six-match unbeaten start, picking up no fewer than five wins in the process.

Even more impressive was the fact that three out of these five early season wins were registered on their travels with victories gained on the road at QPR, Stoke City and Portsmouth respectively, so the visitors may well fancy their chances of returning to winning ways at Kenilworth Road against a floundering Luton Town outfit.
