Big Bucks is back to defend the World Hurdle won last year at Cheltenham. What an amazing horse, with a perfect record up until a 3rd place comeback race at Cheltenham in January. Many people have said that Big Bucks is not the same horse now, but that 3rd place at Cheltenham was on heavy going and perhaps a bit too tough for a horse running in a come back race. Big Bucks is favourite here, and deservedly.
If Big Bucks is to be defeated here, then Annie Power may be the strongest challenger. With a perfect record of 10 wins out of 10, a record has to go here. Annie Power performs well on all surfaces too, including the heavy going. The winner of this race may just depend on how soft the going is on the day.
At Fishers Cross has dipped in form since a Novices' Hurdle win last year at Cheltenham. However, softer to heavy going may suit this runner. Quevega has not lost a race since Cheltenham 2010!, and with 3 wins in a row at Cheltenham, if run in this race, stands and excellent chance.
More Of That and Rule The World make up the other front runners in this highly competitive field. More Of That is an inexperienced horse but with bags of talent. If you fancy an outside bet then More Of That may be worth it at longer odds. Rule The World was second at Cheltenham last year but since then has not shown much promise.
WinDrawWin Prediction - Annie Power To Win. Big Bucks, Quevega To Place.
