Willie Mullins trained Faugheen leads the betting here with a perfect record with 4 wins out of 4, and most recently a win over 3 miles on heavy going at Limerick in December. Faugheen is well fancied and looks a promising prospect. Red Sherlock also has a perfect record with 6 wins out of 6, most recently at Cheltenham in January and November. Perhaps that Cheltenham experience will give Red Sherlock the edge here?
Royal Boy may attract a few novelty bets given the name, but Royal Boy has performed well of late with wins at Kempton and Ascot in January and December. Royal Boy can withstand the soft to heavy going and has a lot of stamina, so may well feature here.
Rathvinden was 2nd at Cheltenham in January and comes into this race on good form. That 2nd place at Cheltenham was on heavy going too, so Rathvinden is a strong contender.
Lieutenant Colonel has only 4 career races, but a good record with two wins and two 2nd places. Lieutenant Colonel may be worth a punt if you can accept the lack of experience.
WinDrawWin Prediction - Red Sherlock To Win. Royal Boy To Place.
