The incredible Quevega deservedly leads the betting here - with wins at the Cheltenham Festival in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Quevega is a great all-rounder, experienced at this distance, and will feature no doubt. Coral are even offering a massive enhanced price of 4/1 on Quevega to win. Crazy!
Cockney Sparrow has a lot of experience for a 5 year old, but will be stepping up to this distance for the first time here. Glens Melody is probably a better bet, and has 4 wins in 5 races in the last 12 months and is Mullins trained.
Sirene D'ainay is fairly consistent at placing, but does not have the big race experience, so would be a gamble in our opinion. Highland Retreat has pulled off 3 wins in the last 3 races, but is used to slugging it out at longer distances on heavy going. Highland Retreat is worth a place bet though and may have the stamina to keep with the front runners here.
It's hard to look beyond Quevega here for the win. It would take a brave punter to back anything else. However if you're looking down the field for value then perhaps the Mullins trained Glens Melody is worth a punt for a place.
WinDrawWin Prediction - Quevega To Win. Glens Melody To Place.
